I would further restrict the arrangement you have at present. I wouldn't muck about restricting the main oil return as it obviously works well at the moment.

Not all bad on Ebay. I bought two WW socket sets (long and short) and both are good quality and fit. Fine for the home mechanic and very reasonably priced.

It's true though, that's what always what came to mind, Anyhow, isn't it time for your lunchtime tablets?

I can only suggest that you enlist the help of someone  who knows motorcycle electrics John. I fear that you're unlikely to sort it all on a forum.

Nothing British that I'm aware of. Probably post war with swinging arm. A long frame number, which might indicate a good number made (?). Eastern European?

Today I checked an old photo (tank currently black) for the colour pattern. I realised that I'd mixed up my primary and secondary colours. I rang RS who were about to despatch and they kindly swapped the quantities. Good, helpful company.

Apparently the Argosy blue metalic is a water based paint. Not a lotta people know that.

Paint ordered from RS. Excellent service, if a tad pricey. Thanks very much for the contact.
Dave.

British Bikes / 1974 model T100R tank colours.

I am going to get my tank repainted from the present non standard colour. The correct colours are ice white/argosy blue. Does anyone have the RAL or BS references for these colours. The white is obviously not so critical.

Have you checked OBM; even older copies. I seem to recall that one advertiser was selling sets for Tiger Cubs. Can't recall if it was engine or not.

I've not done Triumph forks, but the broom handle trick always worked for me.

I don't know if this helps. My 1950ish ZB32 Goldie (Zb32GS3199). It certainly had the flip top filler, but never looked at the tank fixings. Couldn't afford colour film in the 60s.
I did rotate it; honest.

No harm done. I'm sure if the moderators wish to delete any off topic stuff, no one will be offended.

Be careful of the BP at your age. Go and have a rub down with a wet lettuce. Like you, I was lucky enough to cop the last of the stocking era.
