That reg. was issued in the London area from March 1908 to April 1909.
I am referring to the reg. in the first picture. The BF reg. (no listing either) crept in after I posted.

Off tack a bit, but in the 70s I went to the local Ford dealer for whatever and was behind a hipster type at the trade counter. He opened up with "I've got an Escort super dooper etc., with a double etc. etc.
The old hand behind the counter looked at him coldly and said "so what do you want then, a fu**in' medal?"

As Rex said, the ammeter should respond to revving of the engine; battery charged or not. From what you say there is not a problem with your new switch.

RAL3007 - black red. That's the colour for the C12 as in your text. Your heading is C15 which is probably a different colour.
