Identify these bikes! / What is this tank?
« on: November 30, 2007, 05:28:37 PM »
Can anyone help me identify this tank?

It has a very distinctive "v" moulding at the rear of the tank that you can see in the last picture.  Obviously a hand change on the right hand side.

It was chromed all over, but has black paint on top.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers

Nigel.

A superb picture from Mike Scott-Williams taken in South Australia.  Mike has been advised that the bike may be a Lewis.  Can anyone confirm or offer an alternative?

Cheers again....

Identify these bikes! / What is this Trials Triumph?
« on: June 19, 2007, 04:30:19 AM »
Message posted on behalf of BOKOR:
Hi,
below pictures of a Triumph trials that has been in our family for a very long time.
We are currently trying to identify it and failed to do so with certitude so far but hopefully one of you can help.

The are the specs we have at hand are as following;
- frame nr 5312 (or maybe 3512)
- TR5 Trophy engine: nr TR544120
- 1st registered: 1954
- alloy petrol tank, mudguard (at back) with incorporated oil tank etc...
- lightened front end (M&B - H380)
- rear springs
- ...

Amazingly this bike has some specifications I have not seen on standaard machines so far but one should add it used to belong to a former Belgian trial champion who used during championships (Six days?). We are wondering if this is just a 'special', possibly an ex-works bike,...

We also would be very happy if one could give us an  approx idea about the market value of this motorbike in cuurent condition (complete but in need of full restoration, engine not seized)

Can anyone help Howard Kimber identify the model/year of this Excelsior.  The picture was taken in 1944 and we know that the bike had a separate oil tank and glass visor and valve to regulate oil flow. Can you help us?

Can anyone help Deanne Barlow identify the bike in this picture?

It is a picture of her uncle Joseph Goodchild who was killed in Epping forest in 1933 when he ran into the rear of a Green Line bus Killing his girl friend and he died 2 days later. They are trying to identify the model of motor bike he was riding which they believe was a Cotton with a Calthorpe ohv engine? The model and year they cannot find. We know from the prefix number plate it was registered in central London the photo was taken outside the house she was born in at 11 Fenstanton Avenue, Finchley, London. Any ideas?

Thanks
