Definitely sounds like the mag to me too.  Just had my Goldie mag serviced, and now starts well hot and cold.

Hi Guys.  Just saw the mention of the Haynes Museum and remembered some pictures i'd been sent a while ago.  I've just posted them in the gallery at http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Bike%20Directories/Excelsior%20Bikes/Excelsior%20Index.htm

Cheers

Hi!
I cut my teeth on a c15 - similar bike, just a little older than a starfire.  I think you've picked a good bike to start with.  they're easy to work on and a good introduction into the joys of british biking.  If you're going to build one, i would strongly recommend the Rupert Ratio Unit Single Manual.  It will tell you everything you need to know about the mechanics of these bikes.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Another home page I hadn't yet discovered.  I'll add it to the owners club links page.  Thanks Les.

Hi Brian,

we seem to be having problems emailing you.  Emails the address you have used to register with are bouncing saying that you don't exist.  I very much doubt that this is actually the case and that there may be a technical issue.....!  Perhaps you could check the email address you have quoted?
Cheers
