Autojumble / Wanted - A65 silencers
« on: October 11, 2006, 01:46:02 AM »
Anyone out there got a couple of silencers suitable for a 1963 BSA A65 Star?  Cosmetic condition is not important - but must be sound.
Cheers

Wanted Bikes / Fraud Warning
« on: August 28, 2008, 04:54:10 PM »
If you are thinking of buying or selling a bike - please be careful.  There are criminals out there who will try to take your money!

Beware of seller Jaya Kencana of Indonesia.  He "sells" many bikes and has taken money from many people.  Do not deal with him.

A list of known criminal buyers that have tried to con sellers on this site is available at http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Classifieds/pages.php?page=9

Wanted Bikes / Re: BSA DBD34 Gold Star
« on: June 23, 2007, 05:57:56 PM »
Hello,

I found myself in a similar position a few years back and got one...  and I haven't been disappointed.  I got a 1958 DBD34 and have enjoyed every minute of it.  Just be careful that you are getting what you are paying for - there are more Goldies around now than were ever made, and some of them are very good fakes.  If you are really serious, I would suggest joining the Gold Star Owners Club.  Members often sell their machines through the club mag (had a quick look this month, but there's only a DBD32 for sale) and they will also be able to check validity of engine/frame numbers of any bike you are interested in.  If I can be of any help, let me know - and good luck!

BTW, you can see my Goldie on the mousemat at http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Shopping/Mousemats/Goldiemat/Goldiemat.htm

Cheers

Site Feedback / Re: few site probs
« on: January 19, 2009, 07:45:13 PM »
Hi Paul,
yes I am aware of this problem.  It started a few months ago when the company who host this website upgraded the server on which it runs.  It only affects certain browsers and operating systems.  I have raised it with them, and they say it only affects people who are using obsolete browsers etc.  So far, I haven;t had enough info to prove them wring, so if you do see this problem, please can you give me details on your PC & software for (example Windows XP and Internet Explorer 7, or Windows 2000 and Internet Explorer 6.).  Any info that helps me get this resolved would be gratefully received....

Cheers

No I think it is a useful post to keep as it highlights the risk of  following the links in these dubious posts.

Hi there!  I beat you to it!  You must have been typing your post as I was deleting the offending articles!

You are right, there are a number of posters who insist on posting innappopriate entries on the board.  I ensure that these are deleted daily, but you are quite right, these links should not be followed.

I can only hope that they will give up once they realise that they are gainig nothing.

Glad you like the site anyhow!

Nigel.
