G'day
Mid to late 1920's Royal Enfield 350.
Howard.
I think you're right, Howard, probably 1928 or 1929. There's a 1929 RE 350 with engine number 5158LS in the VMCC Register.

As you have the registration number then you can use the DVLA database to check any basic information, but not owner details.

 http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/EvlPortalApp/?SKIN=directgov

Click on *Vehicle Enquiry* follow the instructions, and enter the Reg. No. and vehicle make, and see if anything shows up, very likely it won't, in which case the vehicle would never have been registered on a DVLA V5 registration document?

Had no idea you could do this. Just spent a nostalgic few minutes checking if any of my old bikes are still out there...my brown Z900 appears to have grown to 1075 cc and become silver along the way!

Congratulations to Sammy on getting the MBE in the New Year Honours. Thoroughly deserved, I'd say.

Identify these bikes! / Re: Norton - unknown model, possibly 1930's?
« on: November 06, 2008, 01:07:49 PM »
It an ohv engine that looks about 500 cc and the lack of front mag drive makes me think it could be an ES2, introduced in 1928 with a saddle tank in place of the flat tank used up till then. This bike had the cradle frame also used for the CS1.

Yes, it's gone all right. The message you get when you type in the url says the domain has expired...did someone forget to pay the rent?

Anyone out there know where we can find technical info for a 1929 model? We're particularly keen to obtain any engine data (clearances, valve timing etc.). Many thanks. www.bmct.org

The British Motorcycle Charitable Trust are restoring a 1930/31 AJS S3 500 cc transverse v-twin and we're finding it difficult to locate the correct type of oil tank...anyone have any ideas?

ps - Check out our website and see the bike - www.bmct.org
