Hi mykal,
FI is a Tipperary North registration, you should be able to request the details from the County Council offices or County Archive,
The modern computer records only listed taxed vechicles from 1992 onwards so is useless in this instance

Hi Antoni
The picture shows the roller bearing almost to the end of the bearing surface, this is correct
The "hub" which fits over the splines should fit against the roller race shoulder
It sounds to me as if the "thick washer" that fits in before the nut is missing, this washer is about 5mm thick and holds the hub against the shoulder and the nut locks everything solid
In your case it seems the nut is holding the shaft adaptor and not the hub
If the inside spider of the hub shock absorber is worn where it fits against the roller race it can lead to the clutch locking up when the nut is tightened  >:(

Hi,
Yes I have fitted a few, "plug and play"  ;D
Better made than the Boyer especially the rotor and pulse plate
I believe they are manufactured in the Czech Republic by former "PAL" personnel ?????

Cheers

« on: March 13, 2013, 10:27:29 PM »
Hi wetdog
The velo oil valve is in a fitting at the outlet of the oil tank, they dont always work either????
Original A10 pumps are made of "monkey dung" and are often porus to boot alowing the oil to leak through the pump body,  :o
As you say the pump will not suck when it only has air inside !!

As for the seller of the asv ???????
maybe the pumps wern't rortten through 25 years ago??????????????????????????

British Bikes / Re: 1929 J.A.P 250cc Sidevalve engine problem
« on: March 12, 2013, 08:58:42 PM »
Hi Windy,
On some engines the brass part sitting into the crankcase has a spring under neath so as to keep it in contact with the screwed in top part , others are screwed in , care must be taken so that the two pieces sit against each other or the little disc will not stay in its seating
I have mad the discs by soldering a piece of steel shim or feeler gauge around 0.015in thick to the end of a round bar and then turning to size, some heat will then release the disc
Theres a replica B& L tell tale available here http://www.vintage-replica.cz/374.E.htm
