Try  www.hulsmannmotor.nl/villiers_motornummers.html   and see if your engine number prefix is there. You can translate the page if you wish.
According to the villiers book  Prefix A was introduced in 1951
                                                         B                             1956
                                                         D                             1960
                                                         E                              1963
                                                         F                               1966.

British Bikes / 1965 AJS 250cc csr 14
« on: July 19, 2015, 04:27:20 PM »
Hi I have a 250 cc AJS csr 14 1965 and hope someone can give me a bit of info to rectify a problem. In 1st and 2nd gear it revs well and pulls well but when changing into 3rd it loses power and gives very little throttle activity. I recently had the tank resprayed and cleaned inside, so could it be filters not letting enough fuel through for the higher gears. As I know very little about this can I leave it in your capable hands.
 Many thanks Bud.
