-ve Normal because you are using current to charge the coils.
Electronic ignition is a nightmare, I gave up using it years ago, but I'm sure there is help coming.

back in the 1960s a mate bought one of those Pride and Clark Dustbin fairings to fit to his Triumph 21, yes really. In order to fit it had to leave off the front mudguard...............big mistake, every bit of road grit and crap got whooshed up into his face.

Who remembers Whistons? where you could buy huge packs of all sorts of nuts and bolts, and other stuff that came in handy, even if you never used it

That's because some of the people playing with old bikes have not yet found out the right way to pick up a screwdriver.
Kids are not taught any kind of handicraft anymore.
I am amazed that Kawasaki is allowed on the road, I can see at least a dozen C&U regulations worthy of a nick.
I suppose they made more money flogging off the original parts.
Imagine riding a bike like that back in the 1960/70s, Plod would have had a field day. When I think of the times I was pulled for no front number plate/horn rear lamp.................
well, it was a Triumph 6T, seldom got to my destination without something dropped off..........

They are not as anal about rivet counting as we are here in UK. They reckon as long as it runs it'll do. I can see an argument for that.

I used to do the larger jumbles in the Midlands decades back and the best bit was the Yorkshire guy who would look me out to exchange north/south abuse; brilliant craik, it would have the pair of us in stitches, not at the exchange of abuse, but at the weird sods who did not get the joke.
PC had hardly even been invented.
PS I have a wife of yorkshire stock

Plenty steam rallies down here as well, mostly with some kind of bike element albeit static, but that means you get in free with a bike entered.
