Identify these bikes! / Re: Is it an F1? F2? something else?

Hi
Don't know much about Kawasaki's so I can't help with model ID.
If you get the frame and engine numbers off the bike, you never know your friendly local Kawasaki dealer might be able to tell you what model it is. If not try Z-Power 01942 262864.
If you get stuck with the electrics, Ferret's Custom Elecktrickery 07765 832420 might help.
Good luck.

Hi

The loop you refer to on the bottom right of the frame sounds like the loop to go around the oil pump on the  B group bikes, which includes as you say the Goldies.

Hope this helps.

Hi

Just joined the forum tonight.

Can't think of anyone making new Goldie frames. how ever as a last resort you could consider useing a B31/33 frame.

I am sure I have seen a recent advert for some sort of manufacture of Gold Star engines, I can't think where though.

One of the classic bike mags or Old Bike Mart will have some usefull phone numbers in. Someone like George Prew who specialises in Gold Stars might be able to help you.

Good hunting

Hi all

Just read a great book "The Original Wild Ones Tales of the Boozefighters Motorcycle Club" by Bill Hayes.

Very interesting read. Not drugs and fighting and 1%ers more history and how, who and where.

For anyone interested:
ISBN-10:  0-7603-2193-0
ISBN-13:  978-0-7603-2193-5

Hi Gari

Nice bike mate.

We didn't get the K8 in England. However I have a K7 and I beleive the sidepannels are the same only the badges differed between the K7 and K8.

If I'm right then your bike shouldn't have decals on the side pannels. In fact iv'e seen a couple of K8's over here and can't recall seeing decals on the side pannels.

Hope this helps.

Hi

I managed to get some from a tool stall at Ruforth Autojumble. Mind that was a few years ago now.

Good luck.

Look for the real simple things first.

Have a look at the battery and check the possitive and negative terminals are nice and tight. Then check and make sure you have a good earth connection. Whilst your at it if your bike is not fitted with a MF battery check the electolite level is between the upper and lower markers.

If you are happy with that try changing the main fuse even if the one in possition now looks ok because it's often really hard to see any faults on a fuse.

Good luck

Phil Read Replica's used the CB750 F2 as the donor bike.

David Siver Spares is a good place to find new old stock parts and they will be able to help you, have your frame and engine numbers handy.

A guy called Andy in the VJMC might be able help with any bodywork you might need. Mobile 07720 449991.

Hope this is of some use to you.

Hi Barney

Try www.crooks-suzuki.co.uk for indicators.

I don't now the address but if you google M&P Accessories they supply decent quality pattern indicators that you would be hard pressed to differentuate from stock.

Or if you know where an autojumble is held you might strike lucky and get some from there.

Good luck.

Hi all

My first Jap bike was a 1976 Honda CB200 in red. The thing had a cable disc, great in winter!. Bought it in October did the RAC/ACU (parents demand) passed my test in January I think and chopped it in for a Honda 550 K3 in April after 6 thousand mls. Kept the K3 for a year chopped that in after 12000 mls for a Suzuki GS 1000. :-
