Norton - unknown model, possibly 1930's?
« on: November 06, 2008, 11:33:22 AM »
Hi

These 2 photos were amongst some things I inherited from my Granddad.

I was wondering if anyone could identify which model it is.  He had a liking for motorbikes and owned a number during his lifetime, but no-one in the family remembers this one!

Any help would be greatly appreciated  [smiley=smiley.gif]

Many thanks,
dan

It an ohv engine that looks about 500 cc and the lack of front mag drive makes me think it could be an ES2, introduced in 1928 with a saddle tank in place of the flat tank used up till then. This bike had the cradle frame also used for the CS1.

I think that Mr B is spot on. The engine looks too tall for the 350 and the three-stay frame points to the ES2 for 1928 or so

Mmm...nice !
