Fitting Tri Spark ignition to Trident T160
« on: June 10, 2011, 02:58:56 PM »
Hi has anyone fitted a Tri Spark electronic ignition system to a 1975 Trident T160. Could you let me know what difference it has made and whether you think it is worth changing from Boyer Bransden.

Yes.

Could you let me know what difference it has made and whether you think it is worth changing from Boyer Bransden.

I would expect you to notice an improvement over the Boyer system-especially when starting using the electric starter.
Triple owners who have fitted Tri-Sparks in place of points or other electronic systems are usually full of praise for the Tri-Spark (myself included) and how the Tri-Spark made a noticable improvement to the general running of their triples.
If you are a triple owner (presumably you are) then I suggest you join Triples Online http://www.triplesonline.com/ where you can use the search facility to read about numerous Tri-Spark experiences and recommendations (and ask any questions if you decide to join) on the excellent Triples Online forum.
