help
« on: August 27, 2007, 05:55:06 PM »
I have just aquired a BSA A7, it has an central alloy oil tank, alloy petrol tank, alloy rims, (are they called Birani or something?) some bits missing, seat, twist grip, cables, has not been ran for approx 30 years, cleaned points & carb, & it starts. it has been kept in the dry, although some rust.
Engine no is CA71254, it has an alloy head.
            Any info would be appriciated,
           Thanks.

There was a make called 'Borrani' although there were other makes (Akront etc.).

CA7 1254 would date the engine to 1954.
The matching frame may not have had the same number but should have the same CA7 prefix I think.

The alloy cylinder head would have only been fitted to the sports model A7SS Shooting Star for that year I think.
If your engine was an SS model it would have a CA7SS prefix.
