front hand brake lever

front hand brake lever ........... just putting this on a douglas speedway thing im building , it has no makers name but I see its a hand brake also , who fitted these ? is it a after market part from the 30s ? its a good idea

I'm pretty sure it's BSA, from the 1930s. How about a pic of the "Douglas speedway thing"?

when its rolling , you wont like it but its the closest I will get to a speedway douglas (again as I used to have one now sold, big mistake :-[ ) for a long time
the only two pics i have left , it was my farthers he bought it when he left the RAF

If you mean it can be locked on, BSAs of the '30s often  had them for combo use.

Very nice DT5/SW5. I've been playing with racy Douglases recently, sorting out my friend's shed. One joy was to reawaken his restored SW5 from a 20-year slumber and run it up and down the road.
