How many classic british bikes owners are interrested in having an electronic ignition fitted to their bike!? This will make your bike even more reliable, easy to start and less problamatic.

Every Brit bike I have ever bought with electronic ignition of any type the first job has always been to rip it off the bike and get points back on it, I don't like being miles from now where with a stuffed ignition. at least with points even when giving trouble they have always got me home, unlike the lectronic stuff thats all or nothing.

I like EI, but then I also like points and coils and mags.
I wouldn't strip out a working points set-up for EI, that's for sure, but then the strange people who strip out a mag and fit the casing with a battery-powered ignition system amaze me too. ;)

Literally thousands of classic bike owners already have electronic ignitions fitted to their bikes, so what are you offering that's not already available from Boyer Bransden, Pazon, Tri-Spark, Sparx, Wassell etc?

My bikes are already very reliable ,, soooo easy to start and never give me problems, thanks to Tri Spark so how do you better that ????

On a more serious note, does anyone have any direct experience of the Thorspark ignition kit?  It is a magneto replacement system that sits within the original mag body.  I'd be interested to hear of any feedback as I am considering reselling the product.

I have no personal experience of them, but every time someone suggests fitting one, cynics (like me ;)) put them off with the reply that a battery-powered "mag" would be the worst of all worlds.

Either go for the simple reliability of a mag, or the accuracy and ease of battery powered ignition.
Why combine the two? If the mag's f*cked then get it rewound rather than modify it like this.

The Thorspark is a battery powered ignition system.
The pickup simply fits inside the mag end cover-so it doesn't actually rely on any of the original magneto electrical components in order to function.

I suppose that depends on what angle you approach it at.
To me, it's very logical; even my daily hack is 30+ years old, so nil depreciation, cheapish spares, cheap insurance, etc. ;)
