Burman 3 gear/clutch box needed.
« on: November 10, 2015, 09:23:44 PM »
As I'm getting closer to the end of the restoration it looks like the Albion gear box I have fitted will not do the job.
So,, that being said I need a Burman gear/clutch box to fit into my New Henley Pup, cradle frames  , It's the 2 stud box.
I know this thanks to the people on this site.

If any of you good people know of 1 for sale will you let me know please.
See my other posts for other info on the bike.

Thank you in advance.

I looked in my Burman stuff and I have Type G with clutch 2 stud underslung  smaller style ie 3.5 inch KS  quadrant
I also have a Type WCB also late 20s somewhat incomplete the main reason I mention it is that in the same box is an unusual top mount spacer Basically a 4x2x2 cast aluminium hollow box with a draw bolt on top definitely for a 2 stud Burman
Any interest, let me know and I will PM you some pics
Let me know
Best

Hi Chris Mac.

Thanks for looking.
It would be great if you could post some photos especially the  unusual top mount spacer  item.

I have someone who has a Burman box but still waiting on info.
I will let you know how it goes and if it works out.

Thanks Chris.

That's interesting - with a side plate on either side perhaps you could make the "bridge" for the New Henley gearbox mount.

Hey Leon,

I got the bracket. Thank you very much.
Got some free time today so I checked out the bracket. It's too big to go between the frame mounts which is a shame and because its 20mm too big I cant cut it to size.
But, it helped me to make one similar and it has done the job. I hope to finish it off next week.
I will post some photos when its done.

Thanks for helping me out.

As promised here is the bracket I have just finished for my 1928 New Henley 350cc.
I could only do it with the help of you all on this Forum.

Thanks to Cardan sending me the Burman bracket I was able to use it as a template.
I had a few problems because of the frame shape but overcome them with a bit of head scratching.
The adjuster was an issue but the result was simple and the only option I could come up with.
I suppose I could always do better up I'm happy with it.

Thank you all
