last stop before dustbin freebie
« on: December 19, 2015, 02:32:26 PM »
A large stack of french classic bike mags from the late 1980s-mid 90s, may 60+ of them
3 different titles.
chroniques moto
motos d'hier
moto legende

before you ask, yes they are in french.
and yes I know this is the brit section but no-one seems to read the adverts
Next stop the recycle bins after xmas
I want to get rid the lot in one go.
will post by my hermes for cost; they are heavy

Its probably a fairly limited market here. (?).
At least put them in one of the free ads bike magazines, or even on ebay.

I'd like to have them, or at least browse through them, but postage would be a killer...

You might also investigate if a Library would be interested.
Quite a lot of early brit motorcycle magazines are becoming online, after someone donated them sets,
and they have something to scan. That will be a godsend for later researchers/enthusiasts. !

good suggestions, but done all that, even selling singles @1€  to france via ebay is killed by the post cost.
they've been on here a couple times over they years, even the "girl" in Poole who was supposed to be desperate for info on Peugeots didn't reply when offered several copies. Didn't want to blow 'her' cover I assume.
No good for local charity shops either.
They've been moved off the shelves  into a box, dustman calls next week,
seems a shame, but now at my time of life, time to off load stuff

tant pis, c'est la vie
I've still got 50yrs + of Brit bike mags in store  never thrown one way since I was 16

Still think you should enquire if the local library was interested, possibly back to their main library.
Or someone local from the VMCC.

Someone came to club night with a big stack of magazines, everyone went home with a handfull.
Although they weren't in French...

I live in Wiltshire, where the council are doing their level best to get rid of the library service.
As for the VMCC, my views have been expressed before.

bin day tomorrow

Shame, but I know your problem. I have my car and bike mags going back to the days when I used to spend my paper round money on them. I used to refer back and look for specific articles once, but since the Interwebby came along, there's no point as all you need is instantly available.
I guess the kids will have the job of dumping them all one day... :'(
