Tracing a Triumph
« on: March 13, 2016, 06:47:48 PM »
Hi,

I am new here. My Dad is 80 now and wondering if a bike he had many years ago might still be around.

The reg (he is pretty sure!) is BJV 531. He is sure the letter are correct - not 100% sure of the numbers.

I think the plate was on a Triumph Speed Twin.

Nigel

Not necessarily because it's the "wrong" registration.

If the bike had been scrapped or otherwise 'taken off the road' before the registration system was computerised at DVLA (then DVLC) Swansea, in the mid-seventies then the registration won't be on the DVLA (or any other) database.

they don't like the number because both sites ask it to be entered in a different format.
thats  different to the normal responses I get if the bike is gone.

could just be me of course :(

either way its unlikley it still around, I contributed to the destruction of a good few Triumphs over the years myself.

Well, I got the usual: "Vehicle details could not be found" message.
