H 100 Fuel tap replacement
« on: April 30, 2017, 10:26:00 AM »
Hi ,
I have a Honda H100 1984 ish! I have found that the fuel tap is blocked , I expect it is the internal seals that have perished.
The assembly is riveted together so without destroying the tap I am stuck. My local Honda dealer wants £ 56 if they had one in stock!
I can get one from China for £6 odd but I am not sure of the thread. It is 14mm dia. The Chinese thread is 14mm x 0.1 pitch which seems to be pretty standard.
I would really prefer to get a tap from the UK if the price was right.
The part number is IAOI-5056580

Or maybe a tap from another bike would fit?

All advise would be most welcomed.

Richard

I have used the Chinese ones with no problems.
The new old stock Honda ones are as old as your bike and the rubbers are probably well on their way to being perished anyway.

I suppose it must depend on the storage, but whenever I've bought NoS Jap stuff it's been absolutely fine, totally unlike the repro sh*te which does seem to perish in a short time.
Anyway, it's an old H100 so buy the cheapest you can and see how it goes... ;)

Thanks Rex and Kama,
I have now ordered the tap not from China but from an Ebay site in Bridgewater so hopefully I will not have a long wait.
It actually looks similar to the Chinese import.
