V2 Matchless

(1/4) > >>

barrumundi:
Hi, Does anyone know where I can source the roller type cam follower arms for a V2 Matchless

Thanks
Doug

Can you explain a little more? Do want to source them because they are missing or worn out? Lubrication on thé V2 was rather basic and the cam followers seize up and wear out rather quickly. Rebuilding them isn’t that hard.

Rex:
If I recall, Frank Westworth the editor of Real Classic magazine had a broken one of his Matchie and it was a repeated theme that he couldn't find a replacement anywhere.
He had it welded in the end but they're apparently unobtanium, though you may be luckier than him.

mini-me:
It's nice the faith and hope  from overseas that the UK is knee deep in off the shelf  parts for older bikes. If only it was any more.  In 50+ years of playing around with Matchless I can't recall seeing a V2 in the flesh.

That's a reflective comment not sarcasm or  whatever anyone wants to read into it.

Hi Doug,
What diameter and width are the rollers?
You can buy a rebuild kit for Indian engine followers
Speedway Services should have JAP rollers
A lot of modern car engines have reverted to using roller followers
Last option is have some made

John
