Identify a frame.

Hi!
My first post here.
I got this frame from a guy that buys and sells antiques. He has no clue about the origin or year of the frame. Can you help?
I was thinking British, maybe AJS from late 20s/early 30s...

Can you find a part no or frame no somewhere?

It looks like it's for an underslung gearbox with top stud fixings and the rear brakeplate on right side (adjuster slot on right)? These points might help identification. Quite an unusual frame to my eye, it looks very 'detailed' rather than just tubes between simple bought-in lugs.

That triangular area just under the fuel tank region is also quite short - unlike most vintage frames that had a long flat fuel tank aperture..
That marks it as late 20s very early 30s = early saddle tank design  ??
It looks familar, but I can't think what off...

Are there any threaded holes that you can determine if they are cycle thread or metric ?
Don't think its AJS, although there are features that look similar - as did many other makes.
