I think there is a restored example of one of these in the Sammy Miller Museum, New Milton, Hampshire, GB. You could try contacting them as it will have been restored in their own workshops.

Hi,

Thanks for the replys!

Im especially looking for a cylinder and a head, in any condition. Also illustrated spares list/ owners manual would be great. I doubt they ever print one.

Cheers!

Hi,

I have seen that engine photo in internet, and think its in museum in UK.

The press photo have cambox fitted with two bolts and I think its just a prototype, and changed four bolts in production.

Anyone knows was this Sturmey engine fitted to any other marques? Soyer had Sturmey facecam engine, but think they were different.

from what Ive seen of bits and pieces of engines ,the cam setup was not adequately lubricated ,and didnt last long in use.....but I havent seen a motor in near 50 years now.................all the oldtimers who had massive collections of interesting bike bits are gone...............sadly a local man with a massive collection passed last year ,and complete bikes and basket cases were sold off,but the huge collection of miscellaneous parts was mostly scrapped...........no one has the space to store this stuff any more....Not here anyway.

I have seen that engine photo in internet, and think its in museum in UK.

Indeed, it was just a random pic off the internet, for an example.

I've heard the one locally here was sold off a while back,
and there were no large spares. I'll see if can find where it went.

There must have been a spares list of some sort, alough it might be tough to track down if there were few engines sold.
Being illustrated is probably being hopeful !
Tried the VMCC ?

The Chater Lea facecam engine looks very similar. Probably just as difficult to get parts for. :'(

I have now found a cylinder barrel and a head, so the engine is now complete.

Now Im after a T model frame.
