I've used an Enfield hub to fit to girder forks for a similar project.
Its a 6 & 1/2 inches drum, but who is going to notice. And quite slim.

And you can even buy them new these days, for not so many rupees, delivered to your door.
For a few extra, they can supply a girder fork style axle. !
And if this doesn't suit, you can always turn down the stock supplied plain axle to fit.
Getting the brake attached may involve some thinking though.

Prices can very, considerably, inc for post, shop around.

There probably is if you wait for long enough and look hard enough, but should you find a 6" hub, there's no guarantee that your Velo backplate and shoes would fit it. ???

Sounds like you need to be contacting the Velo Owners Club then.
Bound to be a spare wheel or hub under some bench somewhere.

The Enfield wheel is probably a bit heavy for a lightweight too.

"Please note the wheels in them are from postie bikes" (Honda cubs)
(The bike at the back is in the sidecar !)

They look like Series III Ambassadors. Neither with their original engine.
