I recently purchased the BSA in the attached photo at auction at a farm sale in Australia. It was advertised as a 1935 500cc.
Can anyone verify this off the photo?
It drives well and was registerd up until 5 years ago.

Quoting the engine and frame numbers will help others to give you an accurate identificaton.

I'd want to knock the dog off of it for a start... Looks like an early M20/21 but probably its not looking at the dynamo on the front and the larger sump and different primary chaincase. Thats the best I can do! Someone will know somewhere. Good Luck its a nice looking bike!

BSA would have to be one of the best documented makes around. As LAB says, all that is needed is the frame and engine numbers for a clear identification.

Thankyou L.A.B.
Do you happen to know where I might get hold of a manual?

Do you happen to know where I might get hold of a manual?
Maybe this one is suitable?:
"1935-40 Maintenance Manual All models 149cc to 986cc, including ex-WD M20. (published Temple Press 1958) 35BS3 64 pages £5.50"

The BSA Owners Club may have literature on your model in their archives?
