Title: Whining 3rd Gear on a super rocket bsa.
Post by: dicky-yrrep on October 17, 2009, 12:14:59 AM
Hi everyone, this is my first post so if im repeating previous posts then forgive! ive recently bought a super rocket in fab condition except for 3rd gear which whines really loud. i am a time served mechanical engineer so is it a diy possibility or is special tooling needed? i live in the Birmingham area so if anyone can point me the right way i would be grateful. Also, names and phone numbers of people who can rebuild a box would be great. thanks

Welcome dicky-yrrep,

As you are a mechanical engineer, then you should be more than capable of repairing your BSA's gearbox yourself, if you wished to?

But before you do anything, I suggest you get a copy of the relevant workshop manual.

For any parts try C & D Autos:  http://www.canddautos.co.uk/

You may get  a workshop manual & parts book from C & D Autos, but if not try these people, they're good.
