Title: 1963 Honda CB72 Front Forks
Post by: Old_Phil on December 22, 2007, 04:43:46 AM
Loving rebuilding this bike! Had one back in '65.
I've now got trouble "opening" the front forks though. Want to change seals etc.
Managed to find and hook out the sprung ring inside the chrome section but it gets me no furthur.  ???
Someone out there shine the light for me please.

chrome section

On Honda forks of that period the "chrome section" you referred to is probably the seal housing, and would need to be unscrewed from the slider in order to dismantle the fork legs.

Thanks L.A.B. Jesus that was quick!
I tentativly tried this without knowing they unscrewed, but will now "lean" on them with confidence.

Thanks again

Phil :)
