Title: 1975 Honda Goldwing, various from new member owner
Post by: karlos2000 on June 10, 2009, 03:35:02 PM
hello, I'm new !

I have just bought a 1975 Holda Goldwing.

a childhood dream realised.

a few questions around basics if anyone can help?

1. I guess I have to tax this in the usual manner as it's post 1973?
2. can I run this on higher octane unleaded? or do I need an additive?
3. does anyone have access to parts? as I am in need of a set of standard silencers ....... the bike has aftermarker silencers, but I really want them to be standard.

that'll do for now, no doubt I'll be back for more as the months roll by  ;)

regards

Welcome K2K, and congratulations on your purchase.

Yes, as it was manufactured after 01/01/1973 then it does not qualify as a historic vehicle (nil road tax).

You shouldn't need high octane fuel.

Most Hondas from '78 on were OK to run on unleaded, I'm not sure if a '75 Goldwing would be OK. You could ask a Honda dealer or contact Honda UK?

Try David Silver Spares for silencers and other parts.
