After running my own motorcycle shop for over 20 years and having to close in 2000 for medical reasons I now need to sell my inventory and cycles that were left.
I need help identifing this Matchless, I believe it to be late 50's to Mid 60's.
Frame # 12260
Engine# GS 955 or possibly G5 955

The G5 from the engine would seem to identify it as a Matchless 348cc 'G5' model. This and the equivalent AJS 'Model 8' were produced from 1960-62, the '62 models having an improved breather and an inner roller main bearing fitted. The '62 Matchless model was also known as 'Matador' and the AJS as 'Senator'.

I'm sure the AJS & Matchless Owners Club could give you more information?
