Title: Can you identify this bike, circa 1914?

Can someone identify this bike, Regn. CH 510  please? The photo was taken circa 1914 in Derby.

Absolutely,definitely not Matchless. They made nothing but vee twins in that period plus they made their own forks, not sidespring Druids as shown.
Don't know what it is, but it isn't Matchless.

im not anything of a buff on the veterans, but could it be a Sunbeam? a bloke i know used to own one very similar to this - druid forks, no front brake to speak of (but the same speedo drive), belt drive ... just a thought

NOT A SUNBEAM. ALL MAGS / MAGDYNO'S ARE BEHIND THE BARREL.( EXCEPT FOR THE V-TWINS ) ALSO THE REAR CHAIN IS ON THE TIMNG SIDE UNTIL THE BURMAN BOX IN THE MID 1930'S

Thanks to Howard Burrows of Oz for emailing me and pointing out that this is a pre 1912 Norton.

Notice the “open” Bosch magneto…the closed or waterproof model came out in 1912.

Looks like we got there in the end!
