Hi! I know jack about motorcycles. I am however an author whose new main character rides a '68 Triumph Bonneville. I have seen pictures of it to answer MOST of the questions I have, but could someone please tell me whether this bike would have a kick-start or not? Thanks!

Hi there, Yes the 68 Bonneville does have a kickstart. It's situated on the gearbox on the rightand side of the bike. I hope this helps. Cheers, Dave. :)

Excellent! ;D He's ruggedly handsome, you know, and wouldn't ride a bike without a kickstart, because bikes without kickstarts are for ponces and women.
Yes, yes, it's a bodice ripper. I'm not ashamed. ::) Thanks for your help!

If you really want to keep this authentic - you should avoid ruggedly handsome characters riding a Triumph. I don't recall ever seeing one.....

Uh oh! LOL! ;D
What sort of vintage bike would a ruggedly handsome, fortyish English fellow ride, then? Forgive an ignorant Yank.

Have we met? If not it's uncanny how you have described me so accurately....
;)
And I think your choice of a Bonnie is as good as any!
Keep us posted on your book
Nigel.
