Title: HELP: ORIGINAL vs. RESTORED

would greatly appreciate any insight on how to tell if a 1970 Triumph Bonneville has been restored or is original (as it has been advertised).   I've looked at the bike that has 4500mi on it and  "looks" completely original and in excellent (but not mint) shape.  I was hoping that someone had a hint or trick of something I could look at or do to see if it has been redone. ???

A 37 year old bike which is only showing 4,500 miles on the clock would immediately start the alarm bells ringing for me. That is only 121 miles per year??????

Goldy, thanks for the feedback.  I'd have to agree, and I didn't mention in the initial post that the speedo has the "warning" sticker still on the glass face plate.  Of course he had a "story" of why its so low....
