Title: Barn fresh T120R
Post by: jchob on June 19, 2006, 07:25:29 AM
Yesterday I was driving through town and saw a yard sale, I stoped and was told there was more stuff in the barn. To make a long story short I left with what looks like a 1968 or 1969 Bonnie. My question, I was looking in J R Nelson's book "Bonnie" and I am confused by the numbers on the bike, both the frame and engine are stamped "T120R DU 8053" in the book all the serial numbers are five digit not four. Any ideas as to what I bought. ???

T120R DU 8053 would seem to show it to be a 1964 model?
As the number falls between DU 5825 and DU 13375 (first '65 model).

What makes you think that it is a later ('68?/'69?) model?

Later parts could have been added to it at some time so it may look more like a later model?

The reason I thought the bike was later, twin leading shoe front brakes with air scoop, diode heat sink on front forks, TT pipes, stainless steeel rear fender.
