Also this i believe is from a Enfield of the early 60s i have no longer any need of but only have the fairing no shield or brackets.
-
The mudguard is Royal Enfield, dating from around 1956.
The fairing looks like the 'Airflow' type as fitted to Royal Enfields.

It's possibly from a Crusader or Meteor model?
Crusader:http://www.vintagead.com/catalog/store_images/pictures/mcr5636.jpg
I'm not sure if the two stays shown attached to the mudguard are original?
Possibly??
There seems to have been many different styles of mudguard used around that period by Royal Enfield.

forgot to mention there both steel side panles

The one shown on the right is definitely a Commando Roadster left hand (battery cover) panel. And I'm pretty sure it is from the 1974 850 Roadster version.

the more i look at this headlamp the more i believe its from a autocycle but cant find one with that glass and bracket.

I'm think the mudguard may have come from a Royal Enfield Clipper. It would have been unsprung and not fitted to the fork sliders.
-
do you have any photos of the clipper with this mudgaurd it just feels as it came from maybe 125 to 200cc machine. It just seems too narrow for anything else ill have to find the size out obvious from the photo it could be any size.
-
Both Clipper and Crusader models of the period (I think?) used mostly the same cycle parts so could be from either?
The only thing in the 125-200cc range at the time would have been the 150cc 'Ensign' model.
Could you possibly post up some better photos of the m/guard? (and an outside shot of the mystery oil tank?).
-
I saw this in the latest (Jul '06) issue of Classic Bike Mag. and then found it on the web!
http://www.classicbikesuk.com/2724TandonImp.htm
Could the m/guard be off a Tandon (Imp or other model)?
-
hI L.A.B
It could well be anything is possible it dosnt actualy match but you may be right for some reson i recon it is from a Villiers engined motor cycle dont ask why just a gut feeling. the closest match ive found so far is from a a old exelsior but top stays dont match up and the centre is just plain on them. Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but it isnt one piece of metal it is three centre part then two sides are welded in place top stays bolt on bottom ones are also welded .
