Title: 1937 Norton ES2 - help needed by newbie to pre-war stuff.
Post by: Dunney on March 02, 2010, 06:00:02 PM
Hi

Does anyone have one of these who might be prepared to do a bit of hand holding, answer stupid questions and impart advice.

I have most of a 37 ES2, frame number 5   71553 with a model 50 350 engine (at least I was told it was a model 50) engine number 2024.  Most of the bike is present, but there is plenty missing, like most of the bolts, gront guard, h/bar clamp, h/bar and all levers cables, electrics, foot rests, rubbers, I could go on.  The main bits are here, tanks, engine gear box clutch housing although I can't remember seeing the clutch now I think about it.

What i really need is to be able to use another bike as reference point and to take measurements for brackets and stays, although I think I have most of the stays but don't know.  This is my first pre-war bike and so I am very green about this era.

Hope someone will feel able to help me.

Thank you in advance
Stephen

Hi,
The engine is probably from 1933 as per the engine number.
