Title: matchless electronic ignition
Post by: brooksie on September 08, 2006, 04:13:08 AM
???Hi,the matchbox g3 350 is nearly up and running !
But i need some help with the elec's.The points have been replaced by what i think is a hall effect system(magnet and rotor ) the question is how do i set up the timming as the rotor has two prongs on it so i can't set anything to  tdc.
Any help would be much appreciated as summer is nearly over and the thing needs to be ridden!! :)

Thanx, but it looks nothing like that !.It has the standard sort of backplate and the sensor is just fitted to the side on the plate. The rota looks like the normal rota but has two prongs on opposite sides.
It just has the markings DG stamped on it.
The sensor has got a magnet in the middle of it.
I can't understand how you would set it up with two markers on it.
Over to you

So is an electronic box part of this system?

Does anything look similar to a Boyer Bransden unit?

Is this part of some sort of magneto conversion kit?

Are you able to take a (digital) photo of this unit?
