Hi my name is mARK,
I was given a Matchless Scrambler to restore, don't know anything about them. I'm hoping to find someone that can offer some advice on how to start the restoration.

Load of rubbish, don't even bother.
In fact, send me your address and I'll come and take it off your hands and dump it for you... ;)

take lots of pics before you disasemble , and remember they do not make good road machines unless de tuned also if castrol R has been left in it for any length of time the motor will req a complette rebuild

Mark I would not call it a load of rubbish. I used to watch scambling in the 60,s, and I loved it. The old British thumpers, Matchless being one of them. Restore it and enjoy it. When dismantling record everything take photos as previously stated and make notes. Dont throw anything away. All the best

No, neither would I.....it was just a silly joke to say "lucky bloke, nice bike" ;)

Hi Mark, try and submit a photo of the whole bike, the variations of this bike over the years makes the mind boggle, most of the later ones where Metisse with all alloy motors, find out what it is before you strip it or spend any brass....Good luck with the project.
