Love it! BSA pre-unit twins have something special about them. I have one on the back burner too, I do a bit when I have nothing pressing to do and like yours mine is evolving as time goes by. It started out as a Road Rocket and was with all good intensions going to be a cafe racer.... its 50% on the way to being an RGS rep now :). Stick at it, it's looking good!

Thanks Bomber, I found tonight on ebay a belt drive clutch kit, this would mean I could run it without the cases.  Have you heard any negitave reports about fitting belt drive clutches?

I have one on my 1950 ES2... absolutely wonderfull! although I still retained all the casings for originality, the tin plate primary drive cover on ES2's is well known to be a bit of a seive and I now have a clean drive as well as a remarkable clutch.

ok thanks, think I will get one, well when I have a spare 800 bucks that is:-)

I had a norton 650ss with the same leaking prob from the chain case, so I fitted a O-ring chain which pretty much sorted it.

a little more progress, got the new muffler today so now I can get started on making up the rear sets,  I bought this bike in boxes, and not knowing much about them either, I did not realise that the brake operation was on the opposite side to the brake lever, pretty dumb system imo, otherwise I would have looked to fit a different hub, anyway I have pretty much worked it out in my head and will get about fabrication in the next week or so. I'll update with more pics as it happens.

I also discovered that the brake spindle is too big for the hole in the swing arm spindle so I am on the look out for the correct one.
