Title: 1929 norton es2 maintenance manual ?
Post by: phil_h on July 10, 2011, 03:35:22 PM
Anyone got any recommendations for a book on '29 es2 maintenance ?
Its a rigid frame model with the mag behind the cylinder.
Instructions on the correct setup for the pilgrim oil pump would be helpful too.
regards, phil

There will also be the little Pittmans Book of the Norton that will cover about these years. They usually offer a better decription of the bits glossed over in the manual.
Appear on ebay now and then, usually at inflated prices - but the supply must be getting a bit thin by now.

Pilgrims would have their own publication to cover the pump ?

HTH.

Go to the usual suspects. The Vintage Motor Cycle Club Library, www.vmcc.net and BMS books www.brucemain-smith.com who have everything you want including publications on the Sturmey Archer gearbox used and the Pilgrim Pump.
Cheers,
