Title: BSA Lightning?
Post by: gazza23 on August 16, 2011, 07:59:45 PM
Hi there all

New to your forum and in need of some help. I have a friend who wants to part with his late father's BSA, its in bits and needs a full restoration.
I only have some unclear pics but I think its a BSA Lightning, possibly a spitfire? There are two tanks in the pics so cant be sure. I haven't seen the bike yet but hope to be collecting it some time soon as a winter (or 3 winter) project.

Any help appreciated in identifying this basket case

The engine and frame numbers should identify the actual model.

May even be a Thunderbolt.  Once you have the frame and engine number the VMCC or the BSA owners club will be able to tell you.
