Title: TSS Crankshaft
Post by: Sidecarcrosser on September 20, 2011, 07:54:15 PM
Hi,

Does anyone know the difference between an T140 crankshaft a TSS crankshaft. I was looking the other day and the prices are quite different with the TSS being a lot less. Are they interchangeable?

Thanks

Brooksy

No they aren't. The TSS crank has larger diameter journals which is good news as it stiffens the crank somewhat. The downside is that you won't be able to use the standard T140 rods.
Where can you buy Triumph cranks by the way - in such quantities anyway as to be able to compare prices?

Cheers
Andy

hi Esometisse,

Reg Allen has cranks and Hawkshaw have them listed. The price difference on Hawkshaws is £200 - not to be sniffed at. The crank in my bike has the timing slots in the wrong place so i was thinking about a replacement - basically buying myself out of trouble but at £500 plus VAT for a second hand T140 crank takes some convincing the missus.

Thanks
