I need a little bit of help with the air filter on the norton, After getting a new battery for the starter motor (which works great by the way) the new one is a lot bigger than the old one and i am having a problem with the filter ,I'm putting new carb's on the bike now but they won't fit because of the filter, Do I need to put the filter back on or can I leave it out and cover the end's of the carb's in a mesh to stop anything going into the carb's
thank's for any help

There are a number of options, one would be to fit the perforated metal type airbox from an earlier Commando model, or fit custom filters.
My Commando 850 Mk3 has twin S&B filters - however I don't think that particular type is still available but there are others such as K&N.
