Title: bsa l29 350 sv crank case welding?
Post by: robbsa on April 29, 2012, 05:25:14 PM
I hope you can all get a good view in the photo, if you can, you will see a hole in the crank case at the base of the cylinder. Something in the past has obviously worked its way in and been forced by the piston down into the crank case. looks nasty, but not sure if i need to have it patched or not. This is not a sealed unit to the crank case, so will it affect compression? If i do need it welded, anyone know of a welder in the bristol or birmingham area that will confidently weld this casting?

Any help appreciated.

Don't worry about it. Just make sure your spigot can go down all the way and just JB weld the hole.Or just leave it for extra cylinder lubrication!

Again, RW is right, there is no problem.
Cheers,
