Howdy. I was wondering if any one of you experts out there might be able to tell me, or at least give me an idea of what kind of bike this is. Year, make, model type stuff. I put in a stone deck for my neighbour, and he threw the bike in as part of the deal. He hasn't the slightest as to what it is, nor does he have any info about it's origin (apparently it came out of the garage on the property he bought). Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks ahead of time!

Nice one! It's a 1940-41 Indian Chief. 74 cubic inches (just over 1200 cc), with the streamline guards, it's a most sought-after model. Of course the devil is in the detail, or in this case in how much damage has been caused by rust and corrosion.
