Title: BSA M20/21 front spokes
Post by: Bruce_46 on May 08, 2013, 10:35:08 AM
Hi All!

This is my first time on this forum, so please bare with me....

I've just finished priming and painting my M21 in a lovely Ole Army Drab green. But I'm looking to rebuild the front rim as several of the spokes on the one I have are broken. My dilemma is that in looking for a full replacement set of spokes. The only ones I am able to find are all polished stainless steel, and I don't need to tell any of you the pain and heart ache of having to paint stainless steel.

So I'm hoping that someone might know if somewhere I can buy plain steel spokes online (as I'm in Australia) or at least have a suitable method for painting the stainless spokes??

Any help is going to be greatly appreciated!!

There were original WM20 front spokes on an Oz ebay shop, forgotten the title, for around $20 a side.($1 ea).Might be worth a look.A lot of ebay shops have dropped out lately,as the cost has been increased markedly,I believe.Regards John.

Thanks heaps fgor the replies. I'll definently look into Central Wheels. Failing that, keep my ear to the ground for anothe original set, or struggle through painting on stainless....

Buy a copy of 'Just Bikes' at your local newsagent and hunt through the wheel builders ads. They also sell spoke sets.
Cheers,
