Title: Headlight reflector resilvering
Post by: John Taylor on January 23, 2016, 06:04:35 PM
No need for this now, I finished up buying one from the Guzzi Classic spares shop in Mandello del Lario. Thanks to those that showed an interest.

You mean the lens or the reflector?

If he silvered the lens it wouldn't be much good.

I've heard good things about these people: www.geniusofthelamp.co.uk/index.html - they quoted me £7 / inch across the reflector which seemed reasonable to me. I'd already gone elsewhere - had it chromed which is not ideal but works well enough for a 1931 6 volt headlight....

The last two I had done I used a local mirror resilvering service. No problem, no fuss, it's just another job to them. Can't remember the price but it wasn't anything to raise the eyebrows.
Cheers,

Moto Guzzi Zigolo 110cc. About 1960. Not had it dated yet. Size is about 6", if you need it to be really accurate I would go and measure it.
