Title: Invincible JAP decals ?
Post by: R on June 18, 2023, 10:53:54 PM
Someone is asking if Invincible JAP decals are available anyplace ?
Any leads appreciated.
And thanks to Leon for the loan/linking/pirating of his image !
(They are JAP engines in them, afterall.)

Or do signwriters need to get involved here ...

Isn't it a fabulous transfer!

Some were made 20 or so years back, but I don't know by whom or if any were left over.

My understanding is that the transfers were originally made in the UK, probably by Harold E Peace & Co in Birmingham. Certainly the very fancy tank transfer for A.G. Healing's Precision Big Four was made by Peace. Maybe the original artwork survives.

Cheers

Leon

Very Art Noveau.
Should be easy enough to get accurate replicas made.
Special builders in our club routinely get tank transfers etc made locally, some more complex than that one.

I suppose it depends on what the owner is aiming for. An original style transfer would be a bit of a drama but thin vinyl decals are routine if you have decent art work for the firm to follow. It’s no different from having business details on the side of a van.

Hmmm, a van with Invincible vinyls on it.
Might work on it !

Thanks for thoughts folks.
Didn't readily find any mention of Harold E Peace & Co in Birmingham
Might run it by the vinyl suppliers/signwriter chappies...
It may not be that difficult to have it painted from reverse stencils.
