Can anyone advise if the Lucas PRS-8 is the correct switch for a 1956 BSA C12G.
Thanks
Nigel

Yes, - according to the 1956 Lucas parts list for BSA ("PRS8 31443E") doesn't mention C12G, only C12 .

I know there was a 'C11G' and a C12, but was there a C12G?

I can confirm that there was not a C12G and the C11G was a 250 cc SV in a Bantem frame

Whoops. I meant C11G. Does the PRS-8 still apply? Sorry for the confusion....
Cheers

The PRS8 switch is listed in the 1955 Lucas catalogue for the C11G, but there's no mention of the C11G in the 1956 Lucas catalogue.

They may have not been made in 56,

That's what I thought initially, but the BSA OC does list the C11G for 1956: http://www.bsaoc.demon.co.uk/html/BSANumbering1951to1960.html
Roy Bacon's 'BSA Buyer's Guide' book doesn't list a '56 C11G, so it's possible that the C11G model could have been discontinued sometime during the early '56 model year?

the c12 for 1956/57 had the c11g engine fitted, this may be some of the confusion

The C11, C11G and C12 engines were OHV, the C10/C10L was the side valve model.

40+ years ago my first bike was a C11G. According to my fading memory it was OHV with a plunger rear end. And the frame seemed to be a lot sturdier than a Bantam.
