1947 is a bit tricky (or easier, depending on the way you look at it). Because of the war there were shortages of things like chrome, which affected tank finishes etc. The finish on any particular bike depended on whether the order coincided with the factory having the materials or not, so your bike might just have been all black in the first place! Otherwise, all the painted parts are in black, including wheel rims and headlamp shell with the tank usually chrome plated with ivory lined black panels. The exhaust and headlamp rim should be in chrome too.

Hi Chris, your Triumph 3T would have been black when it left the factory the tank would have been lined in white. As far as I can remember the wheels would be chrome probably with the centre of the rim also beingh black.Handle bars were chrome with chrome bits on the forks spokes were plated probably cadmium or zinc.I had mine in 1952 and it was a 1947 machine nice to ride but not fast enough to keep up with my pals .Good luck Harry.
