You can use the Goldie scramber fine on the street, even with the scrambles gearbox. Taller gearing is the best bet for regular street use, and with the wide ration box, first gear still won't become that high. Perhaps swap out the 19T engine sprocket for a 21 as on mine.

Keep the revs down in town with the straight pipe or better still fit a silencer!  ;)

Regards, Doug

I think that this 350 DB32 Goldie of mine, was used for scrambling back in the 1950s, because it had a central oil tank mounting plate fitted, scrambles head, 18 inch rims and a 17 tooth engine sprocket.

It is now in full clubmans trim, with RRT2 box, Norton clutch, and bored out to 400cc by Phil Pearson.

I have the GP carb, but i find it much easier to start with a Amal Concentric
