My brother is a renowned vintage cars & bike collector here. He recently picked up a bike & wants to restore it. But unfortunately neither he nor anyone of us is able to recognize the bike. But we guess it may be Russian/Polish/Czech. It has two fishtail silencers & a hand gear. If anybody can recognize it then please reply me, for which me & my brother will be very thankful to you. I am posting few pictures of the bike below.
Logo imprinted over the left side of the fuel Tank (we think there was a logo over it, which may be missing):

Thanks bro, thank you very very much!!! I really feel so Happy now. But, are you sure it is "IZH 49"??

But, are you sure it is "IZH 49"??
No, I don't know if yours is the same model as the IZH photo I found.
-
Yeah, your bike is an IZH 49 for sure. They only made that one model with plunger rear suspesion. The earlier IZH 350 had a rigid rear wheel and the later Jupiter and Planeta had swingarm suspension.
The make, of course, came to be only after the Russians took the production facilities of the German DKW works with them after WWII and
re-erected them in Izhevsk in southern Russia.
The IZH 350 was almost an exact copy of the DKW NZ 350.
Here are some more pics of how your bike should look like.
Cheers

Check out the above site and you will see that Izh were producing bikes before WW2. The Ishevsk factory is also where the Kalashnikov AK47 etc are from.
http://bcozz.multiply.com/ This Aussie based Bcozz site is chock full of good info. Check under 'tags.' There should be some pics there to clear things up.
I own an Izh Jupiter 3 (or 2) 1971 it seems, and am hoping to find where a few parts can be sourced from.
Cheers.

Hey, check this out! Just saw it on this Vintage Bike site. If the seller has just restored it there would be some good tips for finding bits one would think.
Cheers, Andrew.
